Cultivating Makers & Creators: Celebrating the Grand Opening of COCO Crafted

Colorado Collective has walked a fascinating journey since it first began as a dream just a little over three years ago. Since our launch, we have been an online magazine and a print publication, and in 2017 we will be redoubling our efforts in both areas. We continue to grow our storytelling expertise in writing and photography with each story we publish, whether print or online, and we are so privileged to tell the often unknown stories behind the thriving small businesses and makers here.

While the past is truly celebrated, COCO continues to evolve in exciting ways as we now celebrate the present, the future. On March 14th, 2017, COCO launched a location in downtown Colorado Springs called COCO Crafted. This is a space that will help embody the vision of Colorado Collective to cultivate makers, creators, and enthusiasts in the Colorado region.

COCO Crafted will host classes taught by a variety of makers, creators, and small businesses that we’ve had the chance to meet over the past few years in our quest to document the fine establishments in Colorado. From poetry workshops to woodworking skills to beeswax crafts to DSLR photography, the location will allow makers of all ages to create something with their hands. Classes will range from all ages–kids, adults, and teens.

The build-out of the space took place over several months, and it included the help of friends and family in our community. We couldn’t have done this without you, and we’re forever thankful as we continue to journey forward into the ever-changing landscape of developing something so challenging and rewarding.

Our grand opening was a time to welcome the community into our creative space. It was an emotional moment for all involved as our founder, Mundi Ross, cut the ribbon to commemorate the official opening of the business.

If you haven’t visited COCO Crafted, please do so. Stop by to create, to chat, or simply to dream. We’ll welcome you with open arms.
