Brianna Michael McGrew is a talented jeweler and a Colorado girl with a wanderer’s heart. Brianna works out of her apartment in the Springs, which in itself is a well-curated work of art. Polaroid photographs with friends litter the walls, her work station is filled with odds and ends, torches and tools and sketches of future and current designs.
Jackie Barr of Red Bench jewelry stood out amongst many at the Colorado College craft fair over the holidays. I was drawn to her use of materials and exotic stones sourced from around the globe. She grew up in Colorado Springs, always dabbling in jewelry making even as a child. In college she discovered metal smithing and there was an instant connection.
